Mumble Media 3
Missed a week of mumbling which I do feel bad about. There is no excuse for that, only way to make up is to continue on.
Trains.
Trains are neat. Large metropolitan cities have subway systems built in high population densities. Certain systems other vehicles to transfer to land to air and more. Trains are the main focal point of traveling within a city. The speed and convenience are the main point to travel large distances on a daily commute.
Trains are built with dedicated rails that do not interfere with street levels most of the time. The designed paths allow for fast moving trains to a better alternative than cars. Trains are still used for cargo transportation in 2016 that might continue further into the future. Aside from flights to other cities the next best option are trains that again have a path for the desired location for vacations.
For this mumbling I recently read an article on Engadget.com about trains in Japan.
The article is here http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/26/japan-trains/
The fascination I have for this is because of the dedication Japan has when they build trains to be the most efficient mode of transportation. Compared to the city I currently live is that it has barely match the distance, design and infrastructure of Japan’s subways system. I heavily rely on public transportation to travel anywhere in Toronto.
There is a stark difference of coverage with the subway lines but for Toronto’s public transit it heavily relies on street level vehicles.
The fascination is the technology built into the trains themselves as Japan built maglev trains to travel far distances in the shortest amount of time. There is a difference that Japan does rely on trains to travel within the country as is was refined over hundred of years. It is the efficiency of how one train line carries roughly 400,000 daily with the time of one minutes and 45 seconds between stations that seem amazing.
Toronto's TTC subway system
Tokyo's Metro subway system
For the passengers at the tolls there are multiple gates for touchless passes with phones or other transfers. The customers use the most efficient way to enter the station as the train systems respect the customers. With the conjunction of multiple routes that intercross for better commute distance that is easily transfer over onto the correct line.
Traveling with trains is easy and reliable, some trains even have foot baths for those on long distance travel. The technology that trains are just getting better when it comes to travel. Saving time while in one case I can read a book while riding a train, moving to different locations within in short amount of time. Being able to travel large distances is amazing by itself without the hassle of delays or hold overs.

I had a trip from Toronto to Montreal via train ride and it was a comfy experience. The train itself had power outlets by each seat, large enough baggage space and leg space between seats. WiFi as well. No foot baths but still it is a better and relaxing experience compared to a flight. Overall I wish there was more train lines in Toronto that I can travel to multiple location easily. Trains are a solution for efficient travel.
That is it for this mumble if there is any cool fact about train in Japan I have left out please leave a comment to this post.
Thanks for reading!
