Breaking Ideas 6 - Netflix starting and ending ideas
Netflix ending series before they can reach their best.
The growing pains of video productions for the most part gets better over time. Don’t leave it all to post, fix it then or ask for help. Scripts get better with other perspectives and people take breaks union or non union.
Netflix recently has undergone a vast sweep of its original shows where it has decided to end a lot and start a few new shows and films.
For a long time we do not know much what happens at Netflix, specifically its business side. They do release trailers and some behind the scenes videos of certain productions they are working on and those are always cool to see. Fans can wait and enjoy it when it fully release at once as binge watching has became the norm and how Netflix is on any possible devices.
There has not been a ton of interviews with Netflix except for when they are ready to share news of upcoming series or new items they are adding into the service. Netflix definitely take their time making these shows but are also good at releasing them at reasonable timeframes. They also get the license of other shows and films to keep added content on a regular basis where they tell users which is added or moving away each month.
How Netflix operates depends on the subscriber model of every month they have so many people already signed up or just have forgotten to cancel. This is their primary model and they make films that keep people on the service through original content or licensing to make new content or some combination of that.
The internet is so different from when Netflix was also a dvd rental service where that business structure was not profitable and video has become more prominent by just having a internet access.
If Netflix can not retain viewer attention then they fail to meet their budget, scope and other goals they build to be the best video service on the market. That is why the recent news of existing shows are being canceled because not enough people are watching them. They cut it fast as possible before they lose momentum on existing projects and make less of a risk of losing viewers.
That is also hard on current projects as the nature of film, shows are getting better with time. Some series are good from the beginning but others have rough starts but they also evolve each season with new ideas. The process of iteration through better scripts, acting and filming can make these show better if given the chance.
This is what Netflix is focusing on and what they see not of worth keeping they cut it from their service.
It could also be bad as viewers might feel that once a show is on Netflix they have to watch or else it won't be there next time. Or that their favorite series will be cut off if it lacks potential from overall viewership. And Netflix tries to make the service better but also deal with two ends, the viewership who subscribe and video production of keeping on schedule and quality.
Not everything Netflix does is bad or good but it is also adapting to how people view shows, films and find a way to keep relevant.
The next few years will be different of how people might be swayed into another service that can offer offline downloads or possible live streaming. Day and date films release could be the next factor of how video is spread out on the internet. There are potential areas Netflix can explore and how it evolves with methods that can succeed.
